Disaster Reflection
1) How does the devastation brought from Typhoon Haiyan make you feel?
- The moment I heard about Typhoon Haiyan which is claimed to be the biggest typhoon in the year of 2013 heading toward the Philippines, I immediately rejoiced thinking that school on Friday would be canceled. I was hoping the typhoon would hit on Friday since I had Korean test and string performance. However, when I read and watched news about all the destruction typhoon caused, it was very terrifying. All the buildings in the area where typhoon hit were completely destroyed and many innocent people have died from this incident. I feel sorry for those who have lost their families or friends in just one day. Right now, I am embarrassed about my immature thoughts and sincerely hope that all the victims will recover as soon as possible.
2) How should people prepare for and respond to disasters like Typhoon Haiayan?
- Since, Typhoon Haiayan's route was predicted through the weather forecast, people who live near the targeted area should have moved to other place.
